I think Ricky's sense of humour is an acquired taste (he was exquisitely painful in the UK Office, I mean he made Michael Scott look like Bill Clinton) but if John Cleese loves you and the Daily Fail hates you - consider your life MADE!
Absolutely Seven. I adore John Cleese and all the Python's. And I really like Ricky's sense of humor. We Americans have to face the fact that while some of us are funny, Brits really knock it home.
Clive Owen, you perked up my ears, must look into this. Yes I think that the American version of The Office is one of the times that a British version of a show was done justice overall but I loved the British version because the reality is that there are people out there in positions of power - I have not worked in many big companies but my friends that do have told me stories that you would think only a comedy writer would think up and you wonder why the world is a bit F**d Up and this is private enterprise never mind the public sector.
Extras, the OG Office, Derek, Idiot Abroad etc. And the best movie about religion since the original Bedazzled : The Invention of Lying. I adore the man. The Derek xmas special pretty much used.up a box of tissues.
Love Ricky Gervais and the Brits sense of humor. I think it's becuase to me my grandpa was the funniest man ever, and he just happened to be British. Coffee and getting rid of the letter U in our words, take the Great Britain. We showed you.
I wish we spelled favorite, favourite.
ReplyDeleteThey spell it that way in Canada too.
DeleteI spell colour that way too.
Delete@califblondy- My ex used to give me grief for not using the "u" in words like favourite...He would always be like, "What did the "u" ever do to u?!"

ReplyDelete@Seven, didn't Ricky create The Office? I've never seen either one but I gather the success of the shows is owed to him.
Delete@Lotta, he did! (And the awesome show Extras, where my boo Clive Owen uttered the infamous line, "F* off! I'm Clive Owen! That's mental!"
DeleteMartin Freeman (Bilbo in the Hobbit movies, Watson in the Sherlock show with Bendy) played the Jim role, he was awesome!

DeleteIf I was The Daily Mail I really wouldn't be calling anybody else "tasteless."
ReplyDeleteYou read my mind Jason.
DeleteRicky is hilarious! Love his show Derek.
ReplyDeleteNot my brand of humor (Hate The Office and his role in Night at the Museum), but I love his activism.
ReplyDeleteIf I caught Ricky Gervaise red-handed burgling my house I still might offer him a cup of tea
