Marlon Wayans Wins First Ammendment Lawsuit

Marlon Wayans was sued by Pierre Daniel over a tweet comparing his appearance to that of Cleveland Brown of Family Guy, and on what he deemed racial harassment on the set of Haunted House 2, reports TMZ. A judge just ruled that Wayans actions are protected by free speech, and that basically, it's funny because it's true. Wayans said that he is celebrating the win by watching reruns of the Cleveland show.

  2. What a dipwad. "Daniel says the comparison seriously injured him by causing "shock, pain, discomfort and/or anxiety" ... and as a result he can no longer work as an actor".

It was a joke and in the photo, he does look like the character. He could've made a joke like "Well, at least I can't pass for a white chick!" but no, he had to get shocked and can no longer work because he was being compared to a cartoon character. When Chelsea Handler gets ticked for being compared to one of Marge Simpson's sisters, then we'll have a problem.

  3. His delicate fee-fees were hurt. I guess he had no idea what he looked like prior to Wayans pointing it out.

  4. He should have always worn a yellow tee shirt and milked it for all the wonderful jokes! It's funny as hell!!!

  5. Well, shit only hurts if it's true right? AND the truth is the best defense against libel/slander. This kind of speech is protected as it was not only based on a comprehensible comparison, but it was plausibly intended for humor. If anything, the most problematic part of Marlon's tweets was the repeated use of the n-word, which here did not qualify as hate speech.
