Blind Gossip Blind Item - Shove Them

This female presenter at the People’s Choice Awards was annoyed that she didn’t get as much attention on stage as much as she thought she should. There were other people on stage with her, and she kept getting blocked by them. “What was the point of my being out there?” she fumed after she came off stage. “They [the audience] couldn’t even see me!” One of the stage hands shrugged and said, “You’re bigger than them. You could have just shoved them out of your way!” That didn’t make her feel any better.

  1. I don't know if she presented, but since this is BG, I'd guess Melissa McCarthy or Allison Janney, which did not happen because Allison is far classier than that.

    1. Hey Seven, I have a random question for you since we were talking Wordpress themes last week. Have you ever used or heard anything about made by minimal?

    2. Krystie, I haven't heard of minimal, is that a theme developer? Most themes with the minimal tag are clean themes, without video or flashy stuff. One WP company I heartily recommend is ElegantThemes.com - they have generally good and useful themes that aren't terribly cluttered (some are, I just avoid those). ThemeForest has a ton of good themes but you have to be specific in what you're looking for. A video-centered theme won't look good for a food blog unless your food blog features video tutorials, a photographic theme won't be good for a personal blog because it's generally more about the photo than the content.

On that note (and sorry to any lurkers who need to report back to CDaN that "7 comments about Enty on every post", I've been a bit of a slacker so here's your tale to tattle) - that was the big mistake KJE made when they switched the site from Blogger to WP. The theme they chose is a video magazine type theme, it's geared toward sites similar to TMZ that feature a lot of video in their content. That's why you keep seeing the red curtain picture everywhere - it's a placeholder b/c the theme is designed to pull a thumbnail from the video content and if there's no video content, you get the red curtain.

    3. I looked at elegant themes and its not quite what I'm looking for. I had a photocrati account which I hated. I'm not super savvy on all of it, but I think this would work for a portfolio/blog. If you get a second to look, let me know! It has a video layout I believe. I don't know if you have to pay extra for it though, and it has an option for a customized mobile theme but you have to pay extra for that too. I don't know if that means its going to look like crap on mobile if I don't do it.

      Basic bitch website

    4. Okay so the format We liked was blogger and word press is the bad boy??
@7.. I hate to bother but I really would like to start my blog..

Which sites use blogger and which use wp..
how do you get a celebitchy type layout but with the ability for everyone to have comments on that thread sent to their email accounts? ?

I basically want a more user friendly version of the old cdan..

      @7. Thanks..

    5. Krystie, that's a lovely theme and I'd buy it. Whenever you see the word "responsive" in a theme, it means that it works on mobile sites without being all weirded out. You can pay extra for a specially designed mobile site but it really isn't necessary. For example, DListed has a mobile site and I hate it, I always click the "view in desktop mode" because the swipe function on that particular design doesn't always work - some articles, I only get half of the article and then it swipes to a new article. I checked it on my iPhone and it was very responsive and not at all laggy.

(Re Photocrati, my SO is a photographer and the amount of massaging I had to do get his Photocrati site to actually work was ridiculous. I finally convinced him to go WP and it's much more useable. Photocrati is like Blogger in that they try to make it easy to use but screw up on basic functions like changing the background or adding a new element.)

@sugar bread, Celebitchy uses WordPress! The email thread is a comment plugin - either JetPack or Subscribe to Comments, both allow you to install the plug-in and then when people comment, they can check a box (like here on Blogger) that says "notify me when new comments are made" or whatever each plugin says. Oh, and it's free. :D

    6. Thanks lady! I don't trust myseld after photocrati deal haha. And any time you ask in a photography group everyone tries to offer to design it for you and you just go in circles. So lame.

    8. Funny you two are talking about this. My friend so wanted me to help build a web site and was referred to Wix. Of course I had zero time and she finally passed it off to someone else. I was sooo happy. I felt bad that I just didn't have the skill set to help her.

    9. Sorry to get back on topic, but wasn't Janney technically a host? (Hostess, is that PC any more?) Or would the blind author make the distinction between host and presenter? Also, I don't think a host would complain about lack of coverage.

  2. What about the actress on two and a half men? Didn't see it so I'm not sure they presented but it is a CBS show.

  3. It must be easy to find out who the presenters are and yet I'm too lazy to do it.....

  5. Ok now that I see the presenters it has to be Kaley.

    1. @M Brown- Maybe this explains why Galecki went up and thanked Kaley's hubby after she forgot to...All of the media outlets went running with that on stories regaling how great it is that these ex's are close. The whole time I kept thinking, OR that could be the most passive aggressive underhanded fuck-you ever to Kaley. Good times!

    2. I definitely felt like the blind was worded to indicate Kaley, but can anyone confirm whether she presented (not accepted) with a group of people? I suppose it's also possible that the lady was a presenter, but that this incident happened while accepting an award....

    3. Kaley presented with two other people, they made some bad jokes about her feminism thing (she said she's saving something for her apology tour).

The remarks lit up the blogosphere, and a couple days later, Cuoco felt compelled to release a non-apology about the whole thing. Anyway, Cuoco joked about the drama while on stage with her “Wedding Ringer” co-stars Kevin Hart and Josh Gad as they presented an award.

“Can we just show the nominees, please, for Favorite Comedic Movie Actress?” Cuoco pleaded while Hart and Gad were joking around.

“Ooh now Kaley, are you sure you want to do that category given your anti-feminism stance?” Gad asked.

“Yeah, I have to, it’s part of my apology tour,” Cuoco said, looking faux-seriously into the camera.

So, no, that banter didn’t really make any sense — but kudos to Cuoco for staying topical?

    4. So yeah, Kaley, because she's bigger than Kevin Hart. Hell, I'm a shrimp and I'm bigger than Kevin Hart. That had to hurt her housewifey feefees.

    5. Now I kind of wish I watched it. I'm all set for this Sunday though.

    2. @sugar bread, I think maybe it was intentional. After all the brouhaha about her being Mrs No Feminist I Like Boys!, bringing up the hubs would just give her more grief. Like when Ben talked about how marriage wasn't always easy but he gave his wife credit for working at it, everyone took that to be proof Ben was cheating on Jen. When Hilary Swank forgot to thank Chad Allen in her speech, everyone was crowing when they divorced a few years later. It's a can't win sometimes. (And I am not a Kaley apologist, she gets on my nerves.)

    3. It is weird how she can be on such a hit show and be making so much money and still most people don't even know who she is.

I remember when the "Friends" cast got a million per episode, it was huge news, and practically everybody in America knew who they were, even if they didn't watch the show.

  7. Not for nothing, but I've heard she's seeing Galecki again. People who work in the industry have whispered about it, but I have no actual proof, it might be total bull shit.

  8. Ryan Sweeting, the forgotten spouse, is actually playing a low level tennis tournament in Hawaii IIRC very soon. That is what he's supposed to be, a professional tennis player. I'll believe it when I see it.
