Happy Belated Birthday, Elvis!

Yesterday would have been Elvis Presley's 80th birthday. To celebrate the momentous event, Priscilla Presley and Lisa Marie Presley, along with Lisa Marie's four children, celebrated the momentous event at Graceland. The Daily Mail has pictures of the event. There was a slight cloud over the celebration; the two private jets owned by Elvis and displayed on the grounds at Graceland are currently being sold at auction. They are owned privately, but displayed at Graceland, and money from tours is split between the owner of the jets and Elvis Presley Enterprises. The Presleys maintain that they are staunchly against the sale, and that it is a bid by the owners to attempt to extort more money from Elvis Presley Enterprises. Here's hoping that a generous Elvis fan wins the bidding, and donates the jets to be part of the permanent collection at Graceland.

  2. The pictures were nice, everyone looked happy. Even Priscilla didn't look THAT scary. I don't think I've seen Lisa Marie's son since he was very young. He has that Elvis look. Whatever happened to Priscilla's son?

  3. I was so mad when I got home last night that there wasn't ONE special on TV anywhere!
Not even a movie with him. I yearn for the 80s when the 68 Comeback Special would be on Saturday evening. Or some Aloha From Hawaii. Damn all you TV networks for forgetting the King.

    5. They've been playing Elvis movies on cable all week. I was wondering why but I guess that explains it.

  4. @Califblondy, Priscilla's son Navarone has reportedly been struggling with drugs. He is in his 20s now.

  5. I dunno, Priscilla still looks pretty scary to me. :/ I think it's in comparison to that pic of her with Elvis when she was young and botched plastic surgery-free. She really was gorgeous before that.

  6. Oh yeah, go up clise on Priscilla face, that makeup was applied with a trowel! Thisclose to Joker! And the weird red hair? Everyone knows you dont have and have never had red hair. This clown makeup and radioactive red hair are aging her dreadfully. All kids are cute, all but one looks like elvis! His genes live on, lol

  7. Dear me, Priscilla does resemble the Joker. What a shame, she was a very lovely lady.

Riley is simply gorgeous. I adored Elvis growing up and when I found out how he died and what he looked like toward the end of his career, I didn't believe it. RIP and happy belated bday, King.

  8. It's obvious Capricorns are superior.
Jesus, Elvis, Howard Stern = all Capricorns.
    Like me!!!

    1. Capricorns are very smart. I have a lot of them as friends and they always blow me away with their even keel and insight.

    2. @Sherry. Well said, "even keel".
(Which I don't think I am, but the men I've loved are. I have the insight. Lol)

I was walking along a busy summer sidewalk in Laguna one day, with my BFF, when a man passed by me and smiled. He got barely by my front side and I spun around, touched his elbow (ARGH, I know!) and blurted out, "Hey, your Birthday is Dec 25th!!!" He stared at me. Then he reached in his wallet and pulled out his DL to show me "12-25-__".
I don't know what good this insight does me, but it's often freaky entertaining.

  9. Uhm..I think Priscilla looks a little scary. How about that picture w/her on the floor and Elvis in a chair with that walking stick. Very subservient.

  10. All my bffs were always Capricorns. So, I thought a male Capricorn would be my perfect match. And that was another husband who bit the dust.

  11. My Aunt and Uncle lived about three blocks from Graceland back in the 80's. I remember when we visited them there and my cousins and I snuck in. The place was trashy. Then again, this was very early 80's and they might not have done renovations yet but in my memory I was just not impressed with the place. Then again, I'm remembering this from when I was 5 years old lol

  12. I always imagined him to be much older. only 80...

  13. Priscilla was an absolute stunning woman back in the day. I am bummed that she felt the need to mess her once beautiful face up so badly.

  14. My bff's birthday is shared w Elvis and Bowie. Which is extremely cool. I share mine w Sophia Grace and Kourtney Kardashian. At least one cool person shares it with me - David Tennant.

  15. I thought Lisa Marie's son looked more like Joshua Jackson in that first picture. As for the rest of her kids I don't see Elvis at all. IMO Lisa Marie is the only one that really looks like him.

I do have a question about the two jets. How can they be owned by Elvis (as stated in the article) yet it says they're "privately" owned. Shouldn't it say they were PREVIOUSLY owned by Elvis? Surely his estate generates enough $$ to buy the dang things at auction. I mean if the owners want to sell them why in the world shouldn't they be able to? Seems like they could have bought them back ages ago if they wanted them so bad. I guess I just don't care that much about it. We drove by Graceland once on our way through there. Damn it's in a scary assed part of town.
