Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman To Star In New Series

Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman are set to star in a new David E. Kelley series, called "Big Little Lies" according to Deadline. It will be a limited series based on the book of the same name by Aussie author  Liane Moriarty. It is described as a "subversive comedy which tells the tale of three mothers of kindergartners whose apparently perfect lives unravel to the point of murder."

  1. Is Nicole playing Reese's mom? Cause that's the only way this makes sense. Sounds interesting, I'd probably watch.

  2. Pointless comment - I dreamed that Nicole Kidman died in a car accident. I never dream about celebrities. I wonder what I ate before I went to bed.

    2. That's weird, I dreamed Morgan Freeman died a few days ago. I even asked my husband if he'd heard anything about it. Don't know where that came from (had watched Shawshank earlier).

  3. I have a subscription to Acorn TV, the British TV and movies service. I love the limited series stuff. None of this hanging on past the jump the shark point on those.

TV seems to be the place to be these days. They are telling stories that don't involved super heroes.

Kidman's 47, so she could be (and is) the mother of a kindergartner age kiddo. She just looks 62.

  4. Two actresses I hate in one show. I reckon I'll swerve that one.

  5. I too like the limited series idea. I am watching Grace Point, and I like that it is going to be solved in a few more episodes, and I don't have a cliff hanger and have to wait until next season to discover that the plot has changed drastically to reel in more viewers. I don't want every show to be like this, but some times it is nice to have a show like that.
As for Nicole Kidman...way to kill interest right out of the gate. She annoys the crap out of me.

    1. I like the limited series too. You only have to commit to one season at a time. Plus it seems to attract actors that typically only do movies.

  9. There are three main characters in that book: a gorgeous, wealthy mother of two, a PTA mom with a rebellious daughter, and a single mom outcast. I'm guessing Nic for the first, Reese for the second, and if they cast Mary Louise Parker for the third, I will be on this like KimK in a room full of mirrors!

  10. Good casting; I wouldn't put it past those two to commit murder.

  11. I wonder if this will be network or cable. My guess it will be better if on cable.

  12. I rather like this idea. It could be good if they don't screw with the story too much to make it Hollywood. Seven I think you got it on the casting for the other mother.

  13. I like both these actresses and I especially like when Nicole Kidman plays a dark stepford murderous type character.

  16. The title makes it sound like a cheesy CW spin-off of "Pretty Little Liars".
