  2. Ventured out to hit the grocery store quickly before the swarm hit. Apparently everyone else in the area had the same thought. Insanity!

I'm now trying to convince myself I don't need to start prepping tomorrow's dinner before tomorrow morning. I know I'll regret that tomorrow, but I can't find the enthusiasm to do it today.

  3. Happy early Thanksgiving everyone! If you are traveling, be safe!

Currently making home made cranberry sauce, and thinking about making spinach dip. We are bucking tradition and brining chicken breasts to grill tomorrow. But will have the usual sides. I might do my brussel sprouts with pancetta tonight, and reheat for tomorrow.

But for sure, hit up Ulta because who wants to waste a 5.00 off of 10.00 coupon?!

  4. I have a pecan pie in the oven and will start soon on my pumpkin cheesecake. Made the veggie meatloaf and cranberry relish last night! I may make the sweet potato and kale gratin tonight because I finally figured out how my mandolin works.

    Happy Thanksgiving!!!

  5. I've got to make two chocolate pies and a cheesecake for my niece, then I have to bake the ham tonight, get to bed early, wake up about 6 to get the turkey in the oven and then get about 3 more hours of sleep before finishing things off. And I just remembered I got the wrong pie crusts, my oldest niece wants an Oreo crust for one of the chocolate pies, so off to the store again. (Yeah, I'm a guy making Thanksgiving dinner, wanna fight about it? lol)

  6. One of the many great things about living in Canada is that we had our Thanksgiving in early October...YET we get to reap the benefits of the US black Friday sales as Canadian retailers now do Black Friday sales to keep us from crossing the border and keep our dollar in Canada lol Sale time!

  9. Working today, but I've just go to go to Wal Mart tonight. I don't really need anything, but I love the crazy crowds and I feel sorry for those who are just now buying their turkeys and hams.

  10. An employee quit her job with us a week ago, but failed to turn in her keys or pay back a $1,000. loan in she received in September. At the time she was desperate to pay her rent - promised she would pay us back in October when she received her child tax credit. She has four children, so my husband and I did what we could, including gave her my sectional sofa that was only a few months old and a bunk bed set my grandkids rarely used - last week my office manager showed me receipts proving she was using our account at a local store. She knew I knew and she knew how this would play out so she quit before she could be dismissed. My staff are feeling used and betrayed - I am angry, so very angry..we are a food bank, a small non-profit that barely makes ends meet. She successful hides behind a religious faƧade, butter would not melt in this angel's mouth..now she's slagging us off to the community and we are out 1000 a few weeks before Christmas. I could hide under my sofa before the choir begins to sing "I told you so"
