    2. All Lace - Brown-eyed Girl is one of my favourite songs. I saw Van Morrison play years ago - it was such an odd concert. It was at an intimate venue, and he was only playing new music. The crowd was pissed, and wanted to hear the hits. Finally, some guy behind me stood up and started heckling him - the two of them ended up (verbally) sparring, and VM finally played one old song.

Also love, love, love Levon, by Elton John.

    3. Surfer- ive seen Van many many times, as i used to live in nyc area and he toured alot at alot of venues. Anyway, he generally does whatever the hell he feels like, and if hits on a fav of yours, well thats good for you. Once he sang Gloria, early song he wrote and recorded with Them. Of course it lasted forever, lol. Love him, soundtrack of my life.

    4. @ Surfer, I've never seem him live. Wish I had. It seems weird he wouldn't know that most people come to hear the oldies. As for Elton, I love Levon, Tiny Dancer and Your Song.

@ Tricia, into the Mystic......great song.

  19. A girl once said to me a good song that would describe myself was Leonard Cohen's Never Any Good.

    How rude!

    1. @Jason B.. F*** Her! ...Actually, Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" always & invariably affects me to my inner core... but regardless of how predictable my choice is.. "I Don't Care- I Love It" (Icona Pop).. & so what cuz...." I Get Knocked Down But I Get Up Again"(Chumbawamba)... & if things STILL suck here, there's always.. "Life On Mars" (David Bowie) there you have it-my life.

  21. btw, Outie, congrats on your site. Make it your own. The premise may have started as part of a revolt, but now it is real. It is organic. And it is yours. Not a shadow. Not a mirror. Not a wannabe. It is your site. Truly own it.

The other site originally flourished because it actively solicited and included input from the readers. Then it forgot its roots (after it was sold) and the commenters who truly made the site popular were left in the dust. I too miss the original enty. But the new owners are the day-to-day brains and they now are reaping what they sowed. The revolt started long before the redesign. Outie, you are the person who chose to act to reunite a long-standing community. I will support you every day with clicks. Please don't take my support for granted and bring in those damn pop up ads. ;-)

  23. In a New York Minute by Don Henley...because I was born in NYC and the lyrics are words to live by, especially this time of year...

"And in these days, when darkness falls early, and people rush home, to the ones they love....you better take a fool's advice and take care of your own, cause one day they're here, next day they're gone."
"In a New York minute, everything can change, In a New York Minute, things can get a little strange."
