Happy Thanksgiving!

Just like Gossip Girl, Outtie takes Thanksgiving off. Whether you celebrate with friends, family, or think it's a yam sham, I hope that all of you have a wonderful day. If you're thankful for anything in particular, put it in the comments. And if you made a bear, undo it!

XOXO,
Outtie

  2. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! The oven in my house is broken and won't be fixed for another two weeks so I'm going to Old Country Buffett for my feast. Not sure how I feel about that. Currently within the macys day parade with my mini me right now :-)

  3. Doesn't mean we can't check in with some gossip.

While I'm getting dinner going (gingerbread is in the oven), there's this:

Kendra says she had to be drunk or stoned to crawl into bed with Hef. I cannot imagine being 18 and being the 'girlfriend' of a 78 year old man. Seems all kind of icky to me. Some sort of numbing would absolutely necessary.

Article in The Daily Mail is here

Happy thanksgiving to all my American friends and happy Thursday to all the others.

Fixing to drive to Blanc Debris and even though I have fish stuffed with shrimp and crab planned for dinner I may crash some friends instead. Making another pumpkin cheesecake because this one turned out so well that I gifted that the Opster now wants one of his own.

I'm still under the covers dreading having to motivate...going to my mother's in a bit.

Drive carefully--even if you're somewhere with great weather, there are drunks out on the road. One of them might even be Enty!

  14. Enjoy your Thanksgiving Yankies - thanks Outtie for keeping the spirit of CDaN on Anarchy.
For some weird reason I was thinking about the Death Pool that Enty 99 loaded up - remember that? The uproar, the disappearance; who knew then the death bell tolled for CDaN!

Yesterday was a snow day; today is a spa day. Wrap me like a mummy & give me some bubbles!

We are going out this year, at my insistence since I'm one of the two main fany members that does the hard labor for holidays at this stGe of the game. My mom was able to reserve a private room at a nice restaurant: 16 of us going and then back to my brothers. But I was still up til 1 am doing stuff/prep.
Thankfully the dinner will be done for us and we'll still be together and that for once I can visit and relax today.

Thankful for y'all and all of your wit and tea.

Cheers to all of you all over thie world.

    1. We're going to a restaurant too. After 20+ years of my brother or I hosting, we decided it was time for a change. I'm excited. I went to bed last night stress free, didn't have to wake up early to start cooking, and now am relaxing and watching football.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, and happy Thursday to those outside of the US.

    2. I hope you ladies and gents tip double. It sucks to work on a holiday making $2.13 an hour.
Happy eating though. Sounds way less stressful that my day

    3. No thanks - Since there were several checks within our group, I told our waitress to add the tip to each bill, then I added a nice additional tip. I appreciate those in the service business that work holidays.

  29. Happy Thanksgiving (or Thursday)!!! Hope all Anarchists are having fun today.
Due to an unforeseen clusterfrack of circumstances, the EastCoaster family has had to move our Turkey Day to Sunday. So tonight it's just me, Mr. East, the furbaby, lots of chinese food, and plenty of movies.

This is all perfectly fine with me...I'm thankful to just chill.
Everyone stay safe, relax, and try to behave :)

  31. The last of the family has finally left
The clicking of the keyboards all that remain
The mess of the day, cleared away with zest
Time for myself much to my disdain

Until the waking of my Dad
From his turkey and ham inspired sleep
For two years to him this day has been sad
So better to hear him snore, than to see him weep

Two years have past since the day my Mother got sick
Two weeks in the hospital with doctors and nurses
Two weeks in the hospital, but she went so quick
No more turkey for her, no shoes, no purses

This day we give thanks for what we have
This day we spend eating, with family and friends
Time is a bandage, it's no healing salve
Love the people today, for one day everything ends

I like the new banner. I guess we're gonna be here for a while then, huh?

Enjoy the day with your fams. I was at my mother and brothers all day and am now heading back to my house where I'm certain this will be me in an hour.

  33. @Rowdy...I'm so sorry that your mom has passed. The loss of a parent (or any loved one) can make the holidays so bittersweet.
It has been 7 years since we unexpectedly lost my dad, and my mom still can't celebrate Thanksgiving at their house. It was their favorite holiday, and it is just too painful for her to have Thanksgiving dinner at the same table my dad used to carve the turkey at.

Sometimes, the best you can do is to simply be there for your dad...to chill, to talk, or to just listen. Your company likely means more to him then you'll ever realize.
I know how days like today can be particularly painful. I personally try to think back on some good or funny memories I have of my dad, and do something I know he used to enjoy (like watch a particular movie, or eat a favorite dessert of his). It may sound trite, but I feel that it's my way of honoring him and kind of letting my dad know I haven't forgotten. You have to try and do what works best for you.

I apologize for rambling, but believe me, I get where you're coming from. Keep your chin up. :)

    1. Thanks Erica. The reason it's really hard on him is that it was Thanksgiving night that she got sick and had to go to the hospital. So, he gets really down on Thanksgiving. However, today his Granddaughter's (my nieces) came over and I let them know (they didn't know the exact day was today) and they spent the entire time they were here decorating the tree like they did with my Mom and telling their Papa how much they love him and are glad he's here. It made all the difference, plus as opposed to last year, I made him get involved with the cooking by leaving him a couple of recipes and telling him I was feeling "sick" and he'd have to make them. Seemed to work. He didn't just sit in his room thinking like last year (and I got a couple hours of sleep lol)

But seriously, thank you again :)
