Vanderpump Rules Cast Can't Afford First Class

TMZ reports that the cast of Vanderpump Rules is paid so poorly that they can't afford to fly coach. More to the point, Bravo will only pay for them to fly coach. The cast made only $5,000 each for the whole first season of the show. Their earnings have gotten slightly better over time: $3,000/episode for season two, and $5,000/episode for season three. The cast believes that the reason behind the low pay is that Bravo does not want them to lose their working class charm. That explains Tom Sandoval's shattered iPhone screen!

  1. That is good though. I hate when shows like Teen Mom try to portray the cast as struggling to pay bills etc when they are actually very wealthy....

  2. How long does it take to film an episode? I'll undercut 'em and do it for $4,998

  3. I'm not begrudging people making money, but I'm with Bravo on this one. The Hills was much better when they were living at Park LaBrea before they got rich. If Vanderpump Rules people had money, they'd be the Real Housewives of Vanderpump Rules. I kind of love that none of them have central air!

    1. I never saw The Hills and can't do Vanderpumo Rules but I find that the first season of a reality show is the best. Look what happened to NeNe! Even Queer Eye was losing it's charm by the end because it got so big. I wish I could find the first few seasons of RHOOC because the clips I've seen are so different from now.

  4. ironic---the Housewives pretend to be wealthy when they are often not and it is sort of the opposite for these guys

  5. While $5,000 per season is too little, $5,000 per episode is quite generous. It's a good-sized cast so each person only has a limited amount of screen time each week.

And they're all getting their SUR wages and tips while filming.

  6. They're waiters, they're used to minimum wage. Duh!

  7. Here's the real deal, USED to be that SAG rules said you had to transport people for business in first class. Chances are they've all had more than 3 epi's and have had to join as you can only go Taft Hartley 3 x. Maybe it's changed but someone needs to contact their local Union rep to get their rights.

  8. Look at Stassi...already a walking advert for the accessories company that pays her to advertise their jewelry. Thats why on every episode of Vanderpump she wears a ridiculous amount of jewelry. They are already starting to lose their working class charm I'm afraid.
