Beverly Johnson Speaks Out About Bill Cosby

Beverly Johnson is the latest woman to step forward to talk about an encounter with Bill Cosby. Johnson has written a first person essay for Vanity Fair about being drugged by Bill Cosby in the 1980s. Luckily for Johnson, the encounter ended when a very pissed off Cosby shoved a heavily drugged Johnson into a cab. Read the powerful essay at Vanity Fair.

  1. With all of these women who have come forward, how can anyone in their right mind actually still support Bill Cosby?

  2. By her 2nd sip of coffee she knew she had been drugged and became woozy? I'm calling BS on this one.

    1. Well, whatever he used, other alleged victims have said they were rendered completely unconscious. A demitasse of espresso is pretty small. If he put the necessary dose in a tiny beverage, perhaps it would be noticeable after a single sip, especially if there's low drug tolerance.
IDK. I've never been involuntarily drugged, to the best of my knowledge.

    2. I was told that the date rape drug tastes salty, and I would think that any drug would add an odd taste. I also read a different article this morning where Beverly said she did her share of partying and because of that, she recognized the taste in the drink.

    3. FSP I encourage you to read the article before you call BS.

    5. How many Americans were drinking espresso coffee back then? Pretty much none. I remember when I first came to LA in the 80's I was shocked, you couldmt buy it anywhere. Thats probably why the sneaky bastard used it as the delivery method for his doping. It was unique and can be bitter which would help hide the taste.

    6. I was drugged once, luckily I felt it in time to leave before anything happened. I knew that after just a little bit of a margarita, I did not feel normal. I excused myself and drove home. I don't remember anything, but a good friend came by saw me on the couch and made sure I was OK. I was with my exboss and one other girl, she ended up sleeping with him. I left the job within 2 weeks and never reported it. I feel for these ladies...

    7. Gracie - I'm so sorry that happened to you, but glad you at the wherewithall to stop drinking and leave. Your story perfectly illustrates why very few of Cosby's victims ever came forward. He was a very powerful person with very powerful friends, plus he had such a wholesome good guy image. Also, 30 years ago it was even harder for women to come forward with allegations of rape than it is now. We are looking at these women's stories through current-day lenses, which isn't the same.

  3. It's become difficult to look at pictures of him and not think there's something sinister there.
I sincerely hope there's enough evidence somewhere to prosecute him for at least one of these assaults.

  4. When I read her name online this morning, I literally gasped. Beverly has major credibility. She doesn't need the fame and she doesn't need the money. She's a class act all the way.

    1. agree 100% with this.

I just hope that someone comes forward with a claim that is within the statue of limitations.

    2. Maybe they all know something we don't.

    3. I would imagine that some of them are also friendly with his wife, Camille. Imagine what she must be going through. She wrote a very angry op-ed after her (beautiful) son Ennis was killed by a Ukranian immigrant in a botched robbery, blaming 'White America' for his death. It was an ugly piece of writing, but you couldn't hold it against her given her immense pain.

    4. That is my point. No one is sticking up for him because they all know.

    5. Like the Jian Ghomeshi scandal that broke at CBC one suspects Bill Cosby and his "alleged" style of "wooing" women is not a secret to most people on the inside in Hollywood. [Yeah man keep em semi conscious and she can't say no. Sure she can't say yes either.]

Even respected journalism schools were not sending female intern applicants to CBC because they all knew about Ghomeshi and his pattern of sexual harassment.

  6. I wonder about Camille. How she feels/felt, what she knew at the time, so many things. I wonder if she'll ever address any of this or if she'll take a hard line Stand By Your Man position. I've never paid any attention to their marriage, so it's truly just curiosity. I have no opinion.

    1. Camille was and is a physically beautiful woman, and she is also highly educated. Whether or not she'll 'stand by' Bill - she doesn't have to! - is another question.

    2. She is, isn't she? And he always seemed so completely devoted to her. I guess what I'm saying is that I know it's none of my business, but I'm wondering, anyway. I believe she was very supportive when the news of his possible extracurricular child came out. It must be horrendous when something like this happens and the world is talking about your partner of many decades. What a shitty thing to do to her.

    3. But men over history have said there are the women you marry and the women you F**k and the latter category I don't respect and they also clearly are very good at compartmentalizing their relationship with the goddess/wife and mother put up on a pedestal vs this other side of their life cheating with various women. This just has an added layer to it, a very nasty layer to it. If we are dealing with a functioning sociopath or psychopath it makes even more sense. If you don't have a real conscience you don't have a problem compartmentalizing your life. You and your needs and wants are all that ever mattered.

  8. Based on mamy interviews ive read over the years, i think Camille is a bitch. She has a real sense of entitlement. If you read thru the rape accounts, several involve her being there and suddenly diappearing when the rape took place. Maybe she is complicit somehow. It must be tough to admit your husband is a serial rapist, but c'mon! Evidence overwhelming!

  9. Oh and I believe Beverly, as I do all these women.

    1. I believe them all, too. This is just too serious of an allegation to make lightly.

    2. Camille isn't going to utter a peep. She enjoyed being Mrs Bill Cosby for a lot of years.

  10. I am still so disturbed by this story and the cover ups that happened. So gross. Obviously, as we know, this is still happening, just a different star who now has the power to hide it.

  12. Could you imagine your world if one day the police show up at your house to arrest your husband for rape or, worse, murder? I know where my husband is all the time and he's a sweet gentle loving man but that would make the bottom drop out.

I applaud these women for finally saying something. Too bad not enough were warned. But remember how predators can separate their lives from family and public. They always find a way to cover their activities.

    1. Oh and I will also add they don't like fighters. This explains why Beverly was thrown out.

  13. About the taste of sedatives, they vary considerably. Xanax is horribly bitter but Rohypnol, another benzodiazepine, is virtually tasteless. I know--I've chewed both!

I understand chloral hydrate, used in a Mickey Finn, is flavorless as well.

    1. It is rather disgusting that so many people knew but didn't speak up for fear of the repercussions against them. Look how the victims' honesty is being questioned. Why is their integrity less than his?

  15. Beverly Johnson does NOT have a sterling rep. She lied about Chris Noth beating her, when they broke up, so she could weasel out of the money she owed him.

I wouldn't put her or Janice Dickinson on the stand to support these rape allegations, though I think they are exactly the type of women Cosby would drug and rape.

    1. Oh ick! Just read the article. The Cosby Show cast models to sit in Dr. Huxtable's waiting room? Well, that allowed for a steady stream of personal auditions for Bill, now didn't it. How could the whole show not know about this bullshit?! Lisa Bonet needs to speak up a bit. How could Camille not know when he gave the phone number to their home to these women? Hollywood allows powerful men to create any environment they like.

  16. Well Hugh Hefner did speak up for Bill, that was just the other day. So we have Whoopi, Jill Scott and Hugh Hefner backing up the Coz publicly and I guess Don Lemon based on the why didn't you just bite it question.

  17. I haven't mentioned this thus far but I swear this type of allegation started before or during '96 - '97 because I remember living in Baltimore at the time and seeing this highrise in downtown Baltimore and knowing he supposedly had a very expensive apartment (just by word of mouth) in that VERY expensive waterfront highrise...and thinking "wow that f'n dbag rapist Huxtable lives there". And I only had that thought then...I left Balt the following year. So when these sorta new allegations starting coming coming out I was like "well here we go again.." but no one seems to remember this starting in the late 90's. But I KNOW I heard the same sh*t back then!!!!
