Emma Thompson Remains Delightfully British

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Emma Thompson gave a hilariously apologetic speech at the British Independent Film Awards yesterday when she received the Richard Harris award for outstanding contribution to British film. In addition to being honored for her independent movie roles, "I have also taken small roles in large studio films that could be described as formulaic for money. And for that I'm sorry."

She could have saved time and simply said, "I'm Emma Thompson. I'm f---ing fabulous. Sorry not sorry," and walked from the stage after dropping her mic. Congrats to Emma on her well-deserved award!

Plenty of Christmas shows here in the next few weeks to keep him busy... and out of my hair! Hahaha! He is always home for Christmas.
How's things in your neck of the woods? Happy and healthy, I hope.

    5. Yep, dark and cold here too. Short days that seem to go on forever. Still though, Winter Solstice soon and then the days get longer, so that's something to look forward to.

  4. I love Emma too. She's a classy lady who's held her head high. I suspect she'll be a dame someday as well.

Let's not forget that HBC is rumored to be the demise of her and Kenneth Branagh.

  6. You know she's got some great stories too. You also know she's too cool to ever write a tacky tell all book either.

  7. Love Emma, but if it weren't for the big budget gigs a lot of people wouldn't know who you were and find your indie films. Don't go snobby..pretty sure there are as many crappy Indies as studio movies.
