Outtie Original Blind Item

This showrunner on a runaway hit almost television show is not stoked on one of the directors. This director is a celebrity who was negotiating to make a TV movie and wanted to sharpen their skills without taking a huge gamble. Director claims to be a fan, but really just wanted an easy stepping stone and isn't above using throwing their name around to get gigs.

  1. What is an almost television show?

    1. Could also be Amazon. Transparent is very popular. I don't think it's Transparent, but just pointing out that Amazon Prime has some homemade series too.

    2. Since FSP's not answering - I think it looks like a penis/thumb/face.
      Or a goonie.

    3. @FSP: I think "showrunner" is a new word for producer. To remind everybody who's boss.

BTW, I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but your avi is odd.

  6. "Stoked"? Outie is from California. I still think it's Lady H.

    1. I say Stoked and I am from Tennessee.
good theory though. Lady H was s great guesser and she isn't around much these days. Maybe she's too busy being the big boss now!

    2. @ No, you hit on my other thought too. Lady H doesn't guess like she did on the old site, but does pop in to comment on other topics and catch up with the longtimers. That too points to the theory of Lady H = Outie.

    3. Stoked is a surf term, that got picked up by skaters and snowboarders. If you ride a board stoked replaced radical in the 90's

    4. Have you guys seen the documentary named Stoked. Rough. About the skater that beat a girl to death in his house

  7. LOL @ All Lace - are we Californians known for our consistent use of the word stoked??

I think this is Jodie Foster - I remember reading something about her and OITNB

    1. I'm in CA too. I know the word has grown beyond the west coast, but when I see it in writing, it seems a deliberate choice of words, which to me points to a Californian.

    2. Not Foster. She is already a well known director. Runaway hit on almost television is either OITNB, Transparent or House of cards. Almost network is CW. Nothing on CW I would describe as a runaway hit. They have some good solid shows but nothing really stands out.

  8. Using a non gender specific pronoun usually means a woman.

Jodie Foster has already directed movies so I'm betting Robin as she's also a celebrity (married to Peen) as well as an actress. My thoughts.

  9. Andrew McCarthy directed five episodes of OITNB and has done network directing, too. I don't know that he'd be considered a celeb, but who knows. He made out with a mannequin once.
