Julia Roberts is New Face of Givenchy

Ricardo Tisci has selected Julia Roberts to be the face of the Spring 2015 Givenchy campaign, Women's Wear Daily reports. The campaign has Roberts appearing boyish, with minimal hair and makeup. The campaign will break in the March issues of a variety of fashion and photography magazines.

  4. Wow. Give chy went from Aubrey Hepburn's little black dress to this. Tragic. Time for rebranding, IMHO.

  6. Soooooo glad it isn't one of the K clan. They were probably begging for it.

  8. Very few women can wear the same hairstyle at 47 that they did at 27. Very few women look good with their hair parted in the middle. Julia proves this. I'm not a big fan dressing a woman like a man. I like trousers and jackets and all that, but I find this too masculine.

I also miss the softer Julia face. She's way too sharp and angular and it ages her.

  9. I used to be a fan, but she bugs me now.

  10. In related news: Kim Kardashian says she turned down the offer because it required wearing too much clothing.

    1. Sadly, that would be her reason. I also suspect that the cut of Givenchy clothes would fit over her, ah, ample assets.

    2. Are u f'n serious??????
It's hard to believe shed turn down anything, let alone this.
But it's also hard to believe she'd say she had the opportunity to turn it down if she didn't.
      Idk.
      Maybe some wrong reporting.
I can't believe she's be offered it and Julia Roberts is doing something fat arse turned down.

  11. I have to wonder if this look appeals to Givenchy's core customers. Does anyone look at that photo and think 'I want to look like that!'

And Julia is best known for her sunny smile, so it's kind of counter-intuitive to have her frowning. You pay for the smile; might as well get the smile.

    1. I hate her face. I just...absolutely hate her face. And pretty much everything about her. Blech.

  14. i don't think she pulls this look off at all. She doesn't look fierce enough. Or edgy. She's a soccer mom with a horseface smile trying so hard to look cool and badass lol.
Tisci is not doing anything to earn my respect as a designer or businessman.

  15. I thought it said Julia Roberts is GETTING a new face.

  16. This is not edgy for me. She did nothing for me as the *face* of that perfume for so long.. I just don't connect with her as high fashion because I know she's a hippie who doesn't shower or shave and hates fashion. At least hire someone who Likes and appreciates fashion. . It's almost insulting that someone who doesn't need money or more fame got this huge contract because she doesn't need / want / or appreciate it.. I would think someone like Rose Byrne who takes risks and is younger would be an edgier choice. .imo..

  17. I'm guessing this look embodies the "real" Julia Roberts.

  18. This isn't edgy, it's Annie hall..I love those big jackets, but can't stomach Roberts.

  19. Well, it gets me to look at it. Not sure what I think tho.
I think it's their latest commercial that ice been seeing on TV and I hate it.

  20. "Minimal hair"? Sheesh, I'm not the face of any fashion magazine and even I know how to brush my damn hair.

Not a fan of this look. Menswear, glare, hair flap ... Givenchy loved modern, ladylike looks (Audrey Hepburn, damn it!). Ricardo Tisci has been spending waaaaay too much time with $300 white t-shirt Kanye. "Let us make all women look like men!"
