Mary Ann Mobley Passed Away

TMZ reports that Mary Ann Mobley, one of the first Miss America winners to make it big in Hollywood, has passed away at the age of 75 after a long battle with breast cancer. Mobley won the Miss America title in 1959, and went on to appear in several movies in the 1960's, including two with Elvis Presley: Girl Happy and Harum Scarum. Mobley was married to actor and TV host Gary Collins from 1967 until his death in 2012.

    What a classy lady she was. There wasn't an Elvis movie made that wasn't cheesy, but Girl Happy is my favorite of the bunch.

    I feel like all of the celebrities I used to see on game shows as a kid are dying off. I distinctly remember Gary Collins and Mary Ann Mobley on Tattletales and possibly Matchgame.

    The old matchgame is still on gsn, and she was on a lot. This makes me feel sad..and old.
