  2. I'm assuming Freddie had the surgery to correct back pain? My dad had this done last summer and it left him worse :( Later I found out it has a low success rate.

    2. My Mother has had maybe 4-5 back surgeries (I lost track) and now she's bent over and can hardly walk. It's so sad. She's always been a hypochondriac and after all these years it's finally caught up to her.

  4. The docs have told me I need to get spinal surgery (I've got three discs that have basically disintegrated to nothing) but with the success rate, I've just let it go. I'd rather be in pain than to be paralyzed or be in massive debt and STILL be in pain.

  5. Sympathies to those of you suffering or who have loved ones who are.

I wish him a speedy recovery; I never even knew anything was wrong. (Maybe this is the reason for SMG's supposed bitchiness? )

And I'm sorry to hear that so many have had the surgery and it didn't work. :(

    1. @Kat, If the surgery was to a disc in the upper spine that's where it would be -- I know because I had the surgery and have the faint scar to prove it. The pain I was in pre-surgery was a constant burning down my spine and I had trouble moving the affected arm and hand. I feel for Freddy.

    2. Yikes @iknow!! You just blew my mind bc it's taking a while to comprehend going in the front. Thank you for the explanation I never heard of that type of pain and I really hope you're all better.

  8. To all those who have had basically the same kind of surgery I'm needing (spinal fusion, disc replacement, etc.) The saddest part of all of this is, we (the government using our tax dollars) give so much money to the pharmaceutical companies to come up with these life altering (to those who need them) pain medications JUST so the DEA can make sure the doctors can't prescribe them to regular people who need them without having to go to an expensive pain clinic and be treated like a junkie. I mean, what I'm taking for my pain is pretty much Advanced Strength Alieve, that's it. It doesn't work. But $100 says that if Obama or anyone else in Washington or Hollywood so much as bumped their toe, they'd be getting Oxycontin or Oxymorphine in a heartbeat
