E! Officially Announces New Fashion Police Lineup

Although we knew weeks ago, E! has just officially confirmed that Kathy Griffin will be replacing Joan Rivers as the host of Fashion Police. Griffin will be joined by Kelly Osbourne and Giuliana Rancic. George Kotsiopoulos will not be returning to the show; he will be replaced by Brad Goreski. Bravo viewers know Goreski as Rachel Zoe's former assistant, and from his own show It's a Brad Brad World. Page Six reports that Fashion Police will air its first episode with the new lineup on January 12th, covering the Golden Globes.

  1. I really liked George. It just won't be the same. I'm glad they aren't doing weekly shows and are only doing show during awards season/fashion events.

  3. There's something about Brad that's just off.. I would much prefer Rachel's 1st assistant stylist Taylor Jacobson I think was her name? ? She was an awesome stylist and could totes cut a bitch in a funny way.. I would have much rather had a show about Taylor and Brad than Raisin face and Rodger!!! And R&R totes throw her under the bus when they fired her the same way they did Brad. . The young ones who strike out on their own have to look like criminals who shouldn't have been trusted and rr were just "too nice and trusting of them" yeah yeah yeah. . Always have to throw your former employee now competition under the bus when you knew they were doing all the work huh???

    1. I totally agree! I loved Taylor. She was a hard worker and had flawless style. She always got screwed over in favor of Brad when Taylor did all of the work. She is a stylist on her own now and styles Kate Beckinsale

  4. The chemistry between all of them was magical. I like Kathie but she's not going to treat Kelly as her adorable pet like Joan did. I know a lot of you don't like the ladies but Giuliana earned it by working forever at E! and poor Kelly, what is she supposed to do without it? Her parents didn't seem to force her to hone a skill and now she has a drug problem plus tons of money. I really hope she keeps this gig because she needs something to keep busy and feel proud of.
Remember season one with Leon Hall? Me neither! He now lives in Ecuador. I learned that during my late night game of trying to fall asleep and googling what happened to random people that pop in my head lol

    2. It's funny but annoying Gina. You know you're trying to fall asleep but so many thoughts keep racing through your head. Then, you think of, it's always a sitcom actor and I HAVE to turn on the light and see where they are. Turning on the light is the kiss of death lol

    3. Kat is it the middle of the night where you are now?

That was one hilarious diatribe right there. Love Ya girl.

    4. Lol@Sherry.
I hate when things pop into my head and I can't figure them out...but mine rarely have to do with celebs, mine are usually "What was that kids name in my grade 3 class who picked his nose till it bled?" lol

    5. Nope I'm East Coast. The Leon Hall incident was a week ago but I still have his bio open in Safari because I must take the time to memorize every detail before I close it...

    6. I hope Kathy chews Kelly's pretentious ass up and spits her out. I could easily live on what that chick must blow on drugs every month. No sympathy here.

  5. I don't think Kelly will last long without Joan Rivers there to prop her up.. I think Joan made sure Kelly got good jokes ahead of time and was told snarky witty things to say by Joan because Joan is like that and had Kelly's back but I think Kathy will just try to make the show hers and save for Ghouliana who is part of the woodwork at E! Kathy might be passive aggressive in trying to show her incompetence. I think Kelly will go the whole 1st season because they are cutting it back to awards red carpets coverage only so ko will at least be kept around for the whole 1st season but Don't be surprised by Kathy and her passive aggressive ways of proving ko doesn't belong there so she can build an online rally to oust her with one of her gays next season. .

    1. Kelly didn't really tell jokes to begin with so I don't think she was fed lines before hand. She would go off of whatever Joan had said. Kelly would mainly laugh and act shocked at Joan's comments.

    2. I think you nailed it Sugarbread I like Kathie but her talk show suuuuuucked.

    3. yeah kathy's talk show was suuper boring.. once a week and it still sucked
don't think kathy kelly or brad will last past the 1st season..but kathy will definitely play the passive aggressive card to show up kelly's fashion incompetence to the viewers and slowly build up an inline rally.. then i'm guessing you will see guest co host fill in lance bass

    1. Rip im sorry I don't know for sure but I have a feeling that George is a real fashion person and he only felt secure on the show working with someone as important fashion wise as Joan. I don't see him as doing any old silly show just to be on tv.

  7. I liked Kathy's show. It was different. I hope she does well on FP.

  8. I will watch. But, I think my problem with the Kathy Griffin choice is that I don't know why I'm supposed to care about what she thinks about fashion. Joan did the red carpet interview thing long before the Fashion Police came to be, so it made sense. She was already established as having an opinion that mattered in the world of fashion. For all I know Kathy Griffin knows as much as about fashion as my 4-year-old son.. This is why I'm worried about the longterm success of the show. I'm sure everybody will be watching the first epi after the Golden Globes, but it will be interesting to see if people tune in all the time.

    1. I still don't get why everyone thinks Joan had some kind of cred in the fashion industry. Sure she was an icon in a lot of ways but jeebus Joan wore some of the most God awful outfits and jewelry plenty of times. All that garish gold lamé and piles of 1980's looking jewelry (surprised she didn't offer a crown and scepter in her jewelry collection).

I didn't particularly think any of the ladies had any major fashion pedigree. They just sat around and talked shit from what I could see.

  9. When Kelly and Praying Mantis were giggling, embarrassed at Joan's latest un PC bomb-George was always laffing his ASS off.
I'll miss him as much as Joan.

  10. I'm going to miss George. I don't know squat about this Goretski guy except that he had a major falling out with Rachel Zoe.

The chemistry between Joan (RIP), Kelly, Giuliana (Joan's luscious lollypop or whatever alliteration she was doing that week) and George who though everything Joan said was hi-larious was what made the show. They each had their role and played it. Even Melissa could do the "can you believe my Mom said that" routine and make it look fresh.

I think Stacy and Clinton would've been better choices but it was pretty obvious it was going to be Griffin. I hope she's studying fashion so she doesn't make a fool of herself when the show returns.

  11. George "thought" everything Joan said was hi-larious. Sorry.

  12. the gossip show on vh1 today said george was fired by kathy and was replaced by brad and all or most of joans most long term writers were fired by kathy too.. cleaning house.. not really a good sign but only about 8 shows a year soooo..
kelly will be replaced eventually by lance bass.

    1. Kathy has her own style jokes. I can't see wanting the folks that wrote jokes for Joan writing them for anyone else, save maybe Don RIckes. Dennis Leary isn't going to want to do Adam Sandler jokes. If you're heading a show, you want someone who knows and works well with your style. I don't see a changing of the guard as horrible or even strange.

    2. That's interesting considering the writers went on strike last year since Joan wouldn't let them unionize, which means no benefits. There's no loyalty in this business. Also, isn't Melissa still producing the show?

      Delete
  13. Well I guess she wants her own people. It's not unusual for something like that to happen when a new person comes in. That said I agree it's not a good sign. I think what people forget is that Joan and the crew she assembled had a good knowledge of fashion and whether you liked them or not they understood the difference between fashion and style and that was their jumping off point. Kathy will soon find that Fashion Police was about more than making fun of what people wore to Red Carpets and that Best and Worst had a lot to do with an individual's and a designer's track record. They all had contacts in fashion and it showed. They had "fashion cred" and that was why they were so respected.I learned something about fashion every week and how to look at clothes from that perspective.

If the show degenerates into name calling and slapstick I won't watch. What does Lance Bass know about fashion?

    ReplyDelete
  14. @aoife.. yes during fashion weeks especially top designers would sit down and talk w/ joan and the others for 20-40 minutes when they wouldn't give other news/ cable/ ent outlets more than 5 mins tops.. respect.. they all respected joan for the impact she had on fashion and bring the names of designers to peoples living rooms and making designers very very rich.. it was called respect.. i don't see tom ford or Carolina Herrera giving kathy anything more than quick air kiss or high girl!!

    ReplyDelete
  15. You think they'll get close enough to Griffin to even air kiss her? I'm still stuck on Lance Bass. Really? And this Brad person? Nope. Don't see it happening. It just occurred to me that they might not be doing red carpets anymore if all they're doing are the big award shows.

Like I said Stacy London and Clinton Kelly would've been the better choice because they know fashion but what do I know?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Kelly won't have much to contribute without Joan since half of Kelly's comments where just her saying, "OH. MY. GOD!" when Joan said something raunchy. Giuliana will be able to hold her own like always. Not sure how Kathy will do because I've never watched any of her shows. Too bad George is gone, he seemed to know what he was talking about and he wasn't afraid to say it if he thought someone looked bad when all the other hosts liked the look.
