When you see them Rob do you think that they must be a really cool person that has lived in NYC (because that is what they are hoping which makes them as vapid as most other LA'ers? Almost as bad as losers that sit around coffee shops with their NY Times.
Rob is from the south , but spent his formative, creative years in NYC with pretty cutting edge groups like Upright citizens brigade/best week ever(when it was funny and people watched) on VH1 and was a John Stewart guy. He makes his living in LA now I'm sure, and wasn't trying to be an elitist. He's probably just really - bored.
Wld be my favorite too. NYC is totally amazing! There are eight MILLION people there from the four corners of the earth. They all have to be fed ,clothed, housed and schooled. Most take care of themselves. On any given day or night there are hundreds of things going on. Like last night- Tree lighting ceremony in rockerfellar center and protest march at same time. No other city in the world does what NY does.

To be from there, is to be- well carved out of stone or marble as opposed to cardboard.I am proud# and there are very few cities where people will literally take tneir shirt off their back if your cold while giving ya directions even when they are 10 minutes late to their meeting.

The big show coming in to immediate family is "finding never land". With a couple of our BI faves matthe Morrison and Kelsey G lol Oh- and Harvey W. Producing- (what's your email, if you are cool with it) be in touch when I'm home and it's running-* opens in March-ideally
I'd rather be a dozen places as opposed to NYC. The people we met there were so rude I couldn't believe it. Then again it all depends on where you grew up. Apples and oranges. Not hating on any New Yorkers here, just think there are way more interesting places to be. One of my best friends lives for his next trip to NY, that city is in his blood. Home is where the heart is.
Min, no, only til i was 18 months old, then we moved to suburbs. But i was in the city all the time, for the un, radio city, world trade center, empire state bldg, madison square garden, Ellis Island, statue of liberty, Fillmore East cafe Wha, rockerfeller center, countless plays, small venues for concerts and blues singers,central park concerts, Letterman, Fallon, SNL, parades, south street seaport, demonstrations, colleges, lectures- I believe my point is made. Lol. Really, what other city offers all that? Are some people rude there? Sure I guess so, but just as many are helpful. They just tell it like it is, no bullshit. I met a young business woman from Texas, and she said she wld take this tell it like it is in nyc rather than fake niceness of Texas. She said you always knew where u stood here.
Like I said, it all depends on what you're into. Trust me there are plenty of people that would argue just as fervently that Austin Texas is the center of the universe (yes, mostly Texans). Endless live music venues, films, food, sports, SXSW and Austin City Limits etc. You might run into Robert Plant shopping at Target or run into Quentin Tarantino at Stubbs Barbecue or Lance Armstrong and Jake Gyllenhaal biking around the park (I am aware there are tons of stars in NY). Anyway I'd rather be someplace in Europe with a rail pass. Texans can be the friendliest people you've ever met or the biggest assholes. Just like everywhere else. Cheers!
