  3. Trying to catch up on this site since I missed yesterday. What a turn up on the Bah Humbug post!

Other than that, I'm hoping to finish the Christmas baking, present wrapping and general holiday bits & pieces in the next hour or so (FAT CHANCE!).

Wishing all you Anarchists a joyous Christmas, Hanukkah, or whatever you celebrate.

    1. @Karen - wasn't the outpouring of support for Outtie phenomenal!?!?

    2. @GOML - it absolutely was and I was so pleased to see it. Typically, website comments are so full of snark, inconsideration and inhumanity. I think the group that comments here are nice, kind, generous people and I think the level of support was proof of it.

  4. Drinking. Been drinking since 10 am. Feeling festive! Gonna cook some prime rib and roasted potatoes. A low key dinner with my little family. Going to be great.

  5. Trying to get ready to head out for a family get together. While in the shower, one of my dogs decided it was a capital idea to poop in my shoe. Oy!!!! Anyone want a free (obviously un-potty trained!) chihuahua??????

  6. I'm still in my Jammie's, the rain has turned to snow, I just did my year in review on FB - finally put some photos up of my trip to the UK in the fall. My husband is about is come home and we're finishing the puzzle we started yesterday - dying to have an eggnog, but it's not even noon....whoot it's Christmas Eve morning! Later, I'm the town's wine-loving postal Mistress date for the town's church service in the evening - just going to sing!

  8. Merry Christmas Eve everyone! Be happy, be safe and be joyful!

I'm currently making some homemade cranberry sauce for my sweet neighbor, and have some mini banana loaves in the oven. Thinking of doing some mini cranberry loaves after this batch is done.

And thinking of making some mulled wine, but might wait until at least 2 ;)

  9. I am actually working but need to get to the library to return stuff/pick up for the long break. Then off to Trader Joes for some pizza fixin's for the long break. The packing for the trip to Blanc Debris. Will visit the MIL and hopefully leave tonight unless some SIL pulls the guilt card and makes us come visit them in SF tomorrow. I am praying that doesn't happen! I would like to be at my house by 9PM but that's just a dream.

  11. I'm so happy because last week I thought of a last minute GREAT gift for my dad who's impossible to buy for. I ordered it from Sierra Trading Post My #1 fav store for everything, including very friendly customer service. Regular shipping said it would arrive December 29 or two day on December 24. After the UPS fiasco last year I decided to save the extra $ on upgraded shipping and my dad would understand. Well it arrived today! Dad will get his super duper weather station tonight! I'm giving them shout outs to everyone because #1, the weather station retails at $90 but I paid $35 on that site, and #2 don't ask me how they do it, but every year, everything I order in December ships faster than the rest of the year. They are so wonderful!
Merry Xmas Anarchists! Thank you everyone for being nice, I really like it here <3

  12. Have a great holiday everyone, if you're traveling drive (fly, sail) safe! We're not doing anything special for Xmas. We did the big turkey for Thanksgiving so for Xmas we're doing tacos tomorrow. Just another day at Casa Min Pin. Everyone have fun, don't drink and drive, yadda yadda, yadda.

  13. We waited too long to order tamales and last I heard we might have Olive Garden takeout or maybe a ham and cheesey potatoes. I'm doing a German Chocolate cake. My Mom is acting shitty but that's an everyday thing. I just want to be with my family, the non-shitty ones. I might take a nap after I frost the cake. I hope I don't eat too much frosting when it's still warm on the stove.

Happy everything to everyone! Love to all, Cali B.

  15. Finished a lot of little survival things. Pre-cooked pasta and rice and packaged it in baggies. It's in the freezer. Did the same with some veggies. Did every bit of laundry possible. I have three 15 litre jugs of water here. About to vacuum finish getting the abode in tip top shape.

Last year we had an ice storm just before Christmas and 250k+ in my city didn't have power or heat for three days or more. Tonight there is supposed to be a big wind & rain storm :-( It's drizzling now, but it is way above seasonal temperatures, thank goodness, and I don't think it will go below freezing tonight.

But still, I'm so freaking paranoid about the power going out for an extended period of time again. Last year was horrible. I didn't have clean clothes because I had planned to do a massive laundry the next day. No food... again, had planned to go grocery shopping. I skipped my shower that day because I was puttering around the apt. By the time I was about to take it, the power went out and I didn't have water because the pumps didn't work. Oh - and my phone was out of juice. I had enough left to make two calls. Now I have back up batteries for it and everything.

Never again. I make sure that if the worst case scenario happens, I'm prepared this time. I started stocking up immediately after the power went back on last year, but have been adding to my cache slowly but surely. But the impending storm has me freaked out and I'm in high gear now.

Oh - Merry Christmas to everyone ;-)

  16. I had to work today, came home with some nice swag--a bottle of white wine, three boxes of chocolates, home made cookies, cash and my bosses gave me grocery store gift cards. I am spending a quiet night at home with my youngest and her fiance, and tomorrow I am going out with friends for dinner. Merry Christmas to you Outtie, and to all of you as well.

  17. I finally finished everything and am now relaxing until the festivities start! We are having a traditional Czech Christmas with the family in a bit - which means delicious dinner and opening presents after apple strudel! (It is customary back in the homeland to open prezzies on the 24th). Then I'm sure the siblings want to go out drinking after.

Happy Holidays to all of my fellow Anarchists (HeisenFave)

And again, thank you for all that you do, Outtie! <3

  18. I'm sitting in a chinese restaurant in Crescent City, having spent the day seeing the Redwoods and getting rained on. It was worth the dampness - absolutely incredible scenery. Tomorrow I head home, hoping to make it to Eugene in time for another Jewish (chinese) Christmas meal. This road trip has been wonderful.
