Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice!
Tim Burton was asked about the possibility of a Beetlejuice sequel while he was out promoting his new movie Big Eyes. People quoted Burton as saying, "There's only one Beetlejuice, and that's Michael. There is a script, and I would live to work with him again. I think there is now a better chance than ever. I miss that character. There's something that's cathartic and amazing about it. I think it's closer than ever." Keaton has also spoken out recently stating that he was in for a sequel as long as Burton was in. Sounds like it's going to happen!

Shake shake seƱora!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting!
I might be alone here, but this dismays me. Beetlejuice is a flawless masterpiece that stands on its own and requires no sequel.
ReplyDeleteYou're not alone..almost always sequels are disappointing..some are downright sucky
DeleteHow long as he been saying this for?!
ReplyDeleteThat being said he told MTV that Winona and Michael Keaton have confirmed to be in it. Hopefully no more Alec Baldwin though....
Never saw it
ReplyDeleteoh youuuuuu......
DeleteI just read on People that he and HBC are separated.
ReplyDeleteLink to People
DeleteI wonder how couples in those 'open relationships' even know when they've separated..hmm...
DeleteAw, I loved HBC & Burton together!
ReplyDeleteI think it would have been kind of funny if they had made a trilogy of sorts. Beetlejuice for the first, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice for the second (Lydia's all grown up and nobody likes her new guy, Bill Murray in his Ghostbusters uniform who brought Beetlejuice back from the waiting room and fixed his scalp issues), Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice for the final where Lydia has a baby, Beetlejuice kidnaps it and installs a nursery in the tiny fake cemetery, and the Maitlands finally figure out the Book just in time to save Lydia's now grownup daughter from marrying Beetlejuice. :D
Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter announced the unconscience uncoupling today according to kneepads.

DeleteSorry Lotta... I zoomed here to be first on the scoop and missed your post.
DeleteThey've been "uncoupled" for awhile. I read an interview (quote?) with her somewhere recently and she was talking about it.
DeleteI think if it's done right a new Beetlejuice movie would be excellent (I just heard that in Mike Meyers Wayne's World voice).
Maybe it would help reboot Winona's career. Would love seeing Keaton back in character for sure. Hollywood needs Keaton BACK!
No worries, Lisa! Great minds and all that :-)
DeleteLisi*! Damn you auto correct
DeleteMy dad and I watched Beetlejuice so many times. Michael Keaton movies were my 80s childhood. .
ReplyDeleteYay!!!!!!! I'm so excited...this is the best Christmas gift ever. :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, please oh please bring back Geena, Winona, and Alec too! I fricking love BJ.
ReplyDeleteSorry Bingo, but I just couldn't let this one slip. "I fricking love BJ".
ReplyDeleteThanks for the love
ReplyDeleteWas wondering where you were.
DeleteI love Michael Keaton!
ReplyDeleteI watched BJ one day when my daughter (who was 4 at the time) was napping on the couch. When she got up, she said, "Nice fu****ing model. Honk Honk." It's hard to be mortified when you are laughing.
ReplyDeleteI'd watch it. And make another Mr. Mom, Michael. Loved that movie.
