Rory Curtis, a 25-year-old barber from London, suffered a brain hemorrhage after crashing into a truck. Upon waking up in the hospital six days later, Curtis was convinced that he was Matthew McConaughey. Curtis recovered fully and left the hospital after two months (the accident happened in 2012), but here are his priceless quotes about his time as Matthew McConaughey, as reported by Us Weekly:
"In my head I thought I was Matthew McConaughey. When I went to the toilet I went to look in the mirror and I was shocked because I didn't look like him, I didn't know what I was looking at. Then slowly over time it eventually clicked and I thought, 'He is an actor, what am I on about?' But at times I was in the hospital thinking I can't wait to get out of here and get back to filming movies."
What a bizarre thing to happen. I wonder why Matthew of all people. Was he a fan? Had he just seen a film? When did he realize he wasn't? So many questions!

ReplyDeleteMaybe the poor man had been watching a MM movie or a marathon of True Detective before the accident. When I have weird dreams, I had a really weird one the night JFK Jr. died and I dreamt I was at a party at a house in my old neighbourhood which I never had been inside with a friend who lived out of town and we met JFK Jr. at this party and I woke up and said no more spicy food at night!

DeleteI was reading about this guy yesterday on either Jezebel or Gawker....it also said when he woke up he was able to speak French fluently, which was not the case prior to the coma.

ReplyDeleteI used to think I had a past life in the Holocaust because I had so many dreams. It was weird because in some I was the prisoner and some a nazi so I was confused but still thought it was a past life.
