Documentary Reveals Fate of Michael Rockefeller
The Search for Michael Rockefeller premieres on Netflix February 1st, reports Page Six. The documentary will explore the fate of the son of New York Governor Nelson Rockefeller. The film will confirm what The Post reported back in 1968: namely, that Rockefeller was eaten by cannibals.
I'm not sure I can stomach this
ReplyDeleteCome again? Never heard of such a tale - I'm intrigued.
ReplyDeleteWell, cannabalism sounds better than the vegan Xmas eve dinner my sister is forcing upon us. 25 guests and no meat. Happy holidays!
ReplyDelete@Just Another Girl - Yikes! :-/
DeleteI feel for you JAG
DeleteNo meat? That sounds awful. I hope it's not as bad as it sounds.
DeleteDon't freak out just yet. If she's a good cook, there are a lot of vegan meals that can actually appear to be meat but not so. Of course those people are few and far between so all the best to you!
DeleteCan you at least drink? I really hate the vegan no booze invites - please don't!
Deletewww.tofurky.com - get a Tofurky roast and you won't miss a thing. I'm vegetarian (20+ years) and this satisfies my occasional craving for meat.
DeleteI'm anxious to see this -- I've always been intrigued by this story.
ReplyDeleteDamn, I'm glad I'm not the only Scrooge around here. Two friends passed away yesterday. I'm so sad and not feeling the holiday spirit. Maybe some time with my grandkids will pick me up.
ReplyDeleteSorry for your loss. The holidays can be hard, but when loved ones pass away, the holidays are even harder.
DeleteSorry for your loss, Cali. :(
DeleteCali that's terribly sad, sorry. Get some hugs from your grand kids, hold them tight.
DeleteAh jeez, sorry Califblondy.
DeleteCalifblondy, my sincere condolences! That's so sad.
DeleteSorry for your loss, Cali.
DeleteOh love, I am so very sorry. Please know I am sending you and yours, lots of hugs, love and comforting thoughts. Prayers as well.
DeleteHope you're ok Cali
DeleteAw thanks everyone, that really touches my heart. Why can't there be a moratorium on bad news during the holidays?
DeleteI can't wait to see this documentary. I first heard of this back in the 80s, and I've always wondered what happened to this guy.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious to see what evidence they have to support their claim.
Never heard about this before, but I will watch this for sure.
ReplyDeleteWhat?? Never heard about this!!!
ReplyDelete1968 was a pretty happening year. I remember hearing about this in school when I was a kid. Our teachers discussed it to show us that no matter how rich and powerful you may be you are still vulnerable.
ReplyDeleteFrom the bits I've heard about this case, it was more than opportunistic cannibalism. There was warfare going on between a couple of tribes and Michael was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
ReplyDeleteOf all the things I worry about in life, being eaten by cannibals isn't one of them. I'm kinda scrawny, so they wouldn't look twice at me. Maybe I'd make a good appetizer though.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone ever seen Cannibal Holocaust? That will give you nightmares.
ReplyDeleteA co-worker told me about Cannibal Holocaust. He swore it was the single most disturbing film he has ever seen. He said the director was arrested and accused of making a snuff film.
DeleteShould I watch it? He told me he'd lend a copy of it to me if I want to see it.
Great flick @Basil
DeleteIt is disturbing and very gross, but it wasn't a snuff film. I would recommend it, but be warned. This movie is disturbing, and I think one of the reasons it is disturbing is because the supposed "protagonists" (the missing film crew) aren't really very nice and committed quite a few crimes before what happens to them.....happens. I'm still pretty sure they impaled that girl after they raped her (and calling her a monkey while trying to catch her. Never get away with that in a movie nowadays). Incidentally, the producers had to produce the girl to the police because the impalement looked so real. And it did look very real, but the special effects behind it are remarkably simple.
DeleteAnyway, the only reason I brought it up is because the storyline sounds eerily similar to what might have happened to this Rockafeller guy.
DeleteI've heard about this but don't know all the details. It will be an interesting documentary. I love documentaries too.
ReplyDeleteImfortunately i read a lengthy article about this in Smithsonian Magazine, but still prob a good film. Took the guy who found out about 3 years of living with the tribes to find out.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of this before, but now I'm intrigued.
ReplyDeleteWow I can't wait for this I'm marking it on my calendar!!
ReplyDeleteI've heard about this "rumor", but I never felt there was any MEAT to it. Thank you! Thank you! Tip your waitresses!
ReplyDeletelol
DeleteWas just reading about 10 unsolved crimes around Xmas on the unresolved mysteries sub reddit about this. He was in guinea I belive
