Rosie Perez Leaving The View
Variety is reporting that after only four short months as a co-host, Rosie Perez is leaving The View. Perez is off this month while she is appearing in a play on Broadway, but she will not be returning after her hiatus. With struggling ratings, more changes are expected for The View both in front of and behind the camera.

At this point when the View ends, it will feel like a mercy killing. That show has SUCKED for years.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember where I was reading that ABC might scrap it all together and extend GMA for another hour. I'm all for it.

DeleteSeems to me KJE went on a rant about Rosie O'Donnell wanting to dominate the View and questioned bringing on Rosie Perez. Someone mentioned her voice in White Men Can't Jump.
ReplyDeleteThe last time I watched that show was with the original cast. I love Joy Behar. I've seen some clips with that blond idiot from Survivor and good grief, between her and Sherri the world is flat Shepherd, I might throw my tea mug at the TV. And BaBa WaWa, she is so damn smug!
Like all shows they eventually sputter and die but they keep putting the paddles on this one. Time to put it out of its misery.
ReplyDeleteNever watched the show but i can see perez being dead wood there. And who the hell wants to look at Mount St Whoopi? With her ridiculous get ups, weird opinions she is too too much and depressing as hell. And i belueve nothing further needs to be said about odonnel. She is opininated and its her way or the highway. I cant believe im saying this but look at the hoda/kathie lee show. For a while last winter we had to take my daughte in law to physical therapy as she coupdnt drive. There was tv in the waiting room and that was on. I couldnt avoid it. Its lightweight, positive and fun. They arent mean about anything. I dont watch it at home, but THAT is what people want to see-fun lightweight stuff.
ReplyDeleteI watched only to see if this new cast was as awful as they said and yes, Rosie was BAD. Like, really bad. And I like her. Not only could she not read the teleprompter but she would interject statements that sounded like she had tried to memorize them beforehand because they were clearly someone else's words and since she didn't understand what she was trying to say, her voice would trail off, she'd look at the floor and the other hosts would look at her with pity and quickly change the subject. That was on the one episode I saw and it was too painful to go back even for the hope of catching Whoopie tooting on air. I can just go to YouTube for that!

ReplyDeleteKathy Lee used to get on my nerves when she was with Reege, but I love her with Hoda. They are a great pair and they're funny as hell sometimes. If you haven't watched them, I'd recommend it.
Every now and then when I'm not working I've seen Kathie Lee and Hoda, they are great! I also love Willie Geist!
DeleteMy husband had a total knee replacement a couple of weeks ago so I was in the waiting room for a good while with the TV on whatever channel Kathie Lee and Hoda come on. My only experience with their show had been Kristin Wiig and Nasim Pedrad's SNL parody of it. After seeing the real show I must say Kristin Wiig was so spot on with her Kathie Lee portrayal.
DeleteNow that I work from home, I catch this some. It's been dreadful for years. Even getting rid of senile Barbara, cretin Sherri, and screeching Hasselbeck didn't help much.
ReplyDeleteWhoopi has become a cranky contrarian and apologist for every celebrity creep from Mel Gibson to Bill Cosby. Rosie Perez was just out of her element.
Lately, Whoopi has been away recuperating from an operation and Perez has been off doing a play. As a result, the show's been better than it has in ages. Nicole Wallace, the current Republican panelist, and Rosie O are getting along surprisingly well.
What operation is whoopi having?, she nosily wondered.
