Joan Rivers Endoscopy Clinic Losing Funding

Yorkville Endoscopy, the clinic that epically botched Joan Rivers' throat procedure and led to her death, has lost its federal accreditation. Page Six reports that along with the loss of accreditation, the clinic will be losing the federal funding for Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries. The clinic has stated that they plan to appeal the ban. Good luck with that.

  1. I wonder if this is normal procedure for a clinic that has caused a death. Or is it because it was high profile? Anyone in the medical field know?

    1. @All lace, I was wondering the same thing? Would this be happening if it had been one of us common folks? Hmmmm...

  3. All lace its prob sop but since its so public and so very much money is being bandied about, they are acting quickly on it. Im thinking there may be other infractions we havent heard about yet. Like medicare fraud or something. Govt gets very cranky about that.

  4. Who in their right mind would even consider going to this clinic?! Unless you live under a rock with zero access to newspapers/electronics this clinic has had bad press since Joan's death. I'm surprised the actual business aspect of the clinic hasn't folded.

  5. The great irony is that since that happened, it is probably the safest place in that area to have a procedure done. Too much, too little, too late though.....

  6. Last night Celebrity Apprentice (don't judge) had previews that Joan will be on the show next week. Sometimes I forget she's dead and then I see a picture and get the sads all over again.
