Programming Note:
MTV Classic is launching on August 1st, 35 years to the day the MTV premiered in 1981. E! News reports that the channel will kick off with "MTV Hour One," the same first hour of television that aired on MTV 35 years ago. The channel will feature vintage MTV programs like Beavis & Butthead, Daria, Laguna Beach, old seasons of Real World and Road Rules, Jackass, Punk'd, Pimp My Ride, and MTV Unplugged. Check your local listings for the channel (it's taking over what is currently VH1 Classic).
E! News reports that Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life will premiere on Netflix on Friday, November 25th.
Renewals:
The Hollywood Reporter announces that HBO has renewed Ballers for a third season.
Netflix has renewed the Will Arnett comedy Flaked for a second season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Hollywood Reporter announces that Netflix has renewed Lady Dynamite, Rob Schneider's comedy series Real Rob, and Chelsea Handler's talk show for second seasons.
