All of that seems pretty damning...or does it? First off, judges in the early stages of divorce proceedings are extremely liberal in granting restraining orders, and the bar is set very low for getting one. You just have to indicate that you feel threatened, and one is granted automatically.
Secondly, both Johnny Depp's first wife Lori Anne Allison and his partner of 14 years Vanessa Paradis have released statements attesting that Depp was never physically abusive toward either of them, and neither of them can imagine him being physically abusive toward anyone, reports TMZ.
Third off, TMZ reports that when Amber Heard called the police about the alleged abuse incident last Saturday night, not only was Depp nowhere to be found, but law enforcement did not see any injury. Heard also did not state at that time that she was beaten, and the LAPD says they had no reason to believe that Depp had struck Heard, which is why no police reports was filed - there was no evidence.
Next up, Amber went to a party on Sunday, the day after the alleged beating, and was all smiles in an Instagram pic with Amanda de Cadanet and Amber Valetta (which was removed as soon as TMZ called attention to it, but they still have the screencap).
Sources close to Depp call Heard's claims "an affront to real victims of domestic violence." In this hella messy divorce, who do you find to be the more credible party?
