Rosie Perez recently spoke out at the Tribeca Film Festival about the stereotypical roles she has been offered because she is Latina. Page Six quotes her as follows:
“How many crackhead ho scripts are you going to send me? I don’t mind being a crackhead ho but … make me the lead. I don’t want to be quiet. I do want to rock the boat...It was very, very painful to see fear coming from my own people. I would see so many scripts that had the line ‘We have to stick together for mi familia.' Who talks like that?...It’s gotten better but it still sucks.”
On getting older:
“My agent told me I am not fuckable anymore.”
