This week's cover of People is devoted to Avril Lavigne, who opens up about her struggle with Lyme Disease. Lavigne was diagnosed in October, and was bedridden for five months. On her experience, the magazine quoted her as follows:
"I felt like I couldn't breathe, I couldn't talk and I couldn't move. I thought I was dying. There were definitely times I couldn't shower for a full week because I could barely stand. It felt like having all your life sucked out of you."
It took a while to diagnose correctly, because those also happen to be the symptoms caused by listening to her husband's band, Nickelback.
