She is failing at everything!
Network executives hired this newsy women for a top TV hosting gig because they thought she could do it all and be a big ratings draw.
That didn’t happen.
"When she refused to do hard news/politics, it severely limited their options. Then she bombed on celebrity interviews, which left them with no more options. They thought she would do both, but it turns out she’s not doing either one."
So she can’t stay where she is, doing what she’s doing. Options
"Hard stories don’t really work in that time slot, but she doesn’t really read as “soft” and she can’t do soft news stories either. They might try to reboot her by including some political material and/or retraining her to be more “soft.” Challenging, though, because she’s just not that likable."
Or they could shuffle her to somewhere else on the network.
Or they could simply pay her off to go away.
