Fred Thompson Has Died

Former Republican Senator from Tennessee and Law & Order actor Fred Thompson has passed away at the age of 73 after a battle with lymphoma. His family released the following statement: "It is with a heavy heart and a deep sense of grief that we share the passing of our brother, father and grandfather who died peacefully in Nashville. Fred was the same man on the floor of the Senate, the movie studio, or the town square of ... his home." Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Jeri Thompson, and their children Hayden and Sammy; his brother, Ken; his adult children Tony and Dan; and several grandchildren.
