George Clooney Talks Old Hollywood

People recently caught up with George Clooney at the premiere of his new movie Hail, Caesar!, where Clooney reminisced about old Hollywood. The magazine quotes him as follows:

"Gregory Peck used to have these great parties at his house, with Jack Lemmon playing the piano. Gregory and his wife would throw these insanely fun parties with really interesting heads of state and actors. [Gregory Peck's house] was the house from Shampoo, actually. So that's one of those times where you're going to that party and to that house, it's something I'll always remember. That was really fun."

On chauffeuring aunt Rosemary Clooney:
"I was a kid on the road with my aunt when she was singing and I was driving her. So I got to drive all these [old-time stars], like Helen O'Connell, and Margaret Whiting, Kaye Ballard, and Kay Starr and all these singers. They're these sweet, wonderful, talented ladies who can be really tough and really fun along the way."
