Football Returns to Los Angeles

Okay, so I know this is a gossip site and we don't usually talk sports, but sometimes something so big happens that it permeates the gossip bubble. The Los Angeles Times reports that Los Angeles will once again have a football team of their very own. The lucky winner? The (no longer St. Louis) Rams! The Rams first called Los Angeles home back in 1946, when they moved here from Cleveland. At that time, they played at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. There they remained until 1980, when they moved south to Anaheim (but retained their Los Angeles name). In 1995, the team moved to St. Louis, where it remained until now.

The new stadium will be built on the site of the old Hollywood Park racetrack in Inglewood. It will be the biggest stadium in the NFL; the site in Inglewood is three times the size of Vatican City. The $3 billion stadium won't be fully operational until 2019, so until then, the Los Angeles Rams will return to where it all started - The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Congratulations, Los Angeles!
