Prolific actor John Hurt has passed away at the age of 77 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Hurt had over two hundred acting credits, and was Oscar nominated twice; one of those times was for his starring role in The Elephant Man. Hurt was nominated for a BAFTA for his role in Alien. Hurt is survived by his fourth wife, Anwen Rees-Myers, and two sons, Alexander and Nicholas. Read his full obituary at the New York Times.
