The Weinstein Shit Has Hit The Fan

After last week's bombshell New York Times article about Harvey Weinstein came out, two new articles dropped yesterday, one from the New York Times, and one from The New Yorker.

The one from the New York Times has accounts from Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie, among others. Read it here.

The one from The New Yorker is excellently written by Ronan Farrow has accounts from Asia Argento and Mira Sorvino, among others. Fair warning: it is very explicit and upsetting. Read it here.

After the New Yorker article came out, Argento's boyfriend Anthony Bourdain took to Twitter to say the following:

On a related note, People reports that Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman, 41, is leaving Harvey Weinstein, 65, after almost 10 years of marriage. She released the following statement: “My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions. I have chosen to leave my husband. Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time.” The couple has two children together, India Pearl, 7, and Dashiell Max Robert, 4.

TMZ reports that Harvey Weinstein has flown to Europe to go to "sex addiction rehab."

*Outtie Update:
In yesterday's post about Harvey Weinstein, an article was posted from Vulture titled "Matt Damon, Russell Crowe Reportedly Helped Kill a 2004 New York Times Harvey Weinstein Article." Damon spoke to Deadline to refute that account. It has been corroborated by the journalist working on that 2004 piece that Damon had no idea that she was working on an investigative report about Weinstein, and did not ask Damon any questions about Weinstein's behaviour. Yesterday's post has been updated to reflect this information.
