Gregg Allman, founding member of the Allman Brothers Band, passed away from liver cancer at his home in Savannah, Georgia on Saturday. He was 69. Allman was the band's lead singer and keyboardist. Allman was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 as a member of the Allman Brothers Band. Allman is survived by his wife, Shannon Allman; his sons, Michael, Devon and Elijah Blue; his daughters, Island and Layla; and three grandchildren. Read his full obituary at the New York Times.
