Garrison Keillor Has Retired

The New York Times reports that after 42 season, Garrison Keillor, 73, has retired as the host of radio's A Prairie Home Companion. His final show was recorded at the Hollywood Bowl on Friday in front of 18,000 people, and followed the normal routine, save for a phone call from the President. Obama told Keillor, “One of the reasons I miss driving is that you kept me company. A Prairie Home Companion made me feel better and more human.” The show closed with his final "News from Lake Wobegon." A Prairie Home Companion will continue on with Chris Thile as the new host in the fall; Keillor will remain as executive producer.
