Gals (and guys) guess what?! The CANVAS bags are here! And they're up for pre-order NOW! This new line made out of recycled canvas was inspired by you!!!! After last season, I asked all of you for your thoughts, ideas and suggestions moving forward with the next collection after realizing my collaboration with @FreedomOfAnimals absolutely needed to develop further. I loved your input, in fact it inspired me to want an even larger presence in the company, ultimately giving me the chance to deliver your messages directly and it definitely had an influence on the materials and direction of the line. One major concern that I heard was the price, which I learned myself along the way is an unintended (and unfortunate) consequence of producing in the U.S. along with using sustainable (non-pvc) faux leather. One shocking fact I was told is this- it literally costs 5x the amount to produce in the states as it does to mass produce overseas. Morgan and I are continually talking about the issues and coming up with solutions on how to create a higher demand for U.S. Made products by supporting them initially instead of increasing the never ending demand for fast fashion chasing the "cheaper/faster" turnaround with clothing and accessories produced in factories overseas with HORRIBLE working conditions, where people are literally sacrificing their lives for our increasing demand to have "more for less, and quicker". We created this secondary line made of recycled canvas at a MUCH LOWER price point in our first attempt to make them for available to a much wider demographic! Thank you all so much for your suggestions, enthusiasm, creative input and encouragement. Ps if you want to learn even more about this stuff, watch the documentary True Cost on Netflix. It literally changed my entire perspective and made me realize that above everything, the most immediate way we can make a difference is by using/wearing recycled materials, no matter what those materials are. Also, the cool thing about this recycled canvas, is that it is recycled cotton clippings from US factories only woven with recycled water bottles with zero additional chemicals. :)
