E! News announces that Karl Lagerfeld has chosen Willow Smith to be his new Chanel ambassadress. Here's the official statement from Chanel:
"The young singer, songwriter, actress and trendsetter has been wearing CHANEL for public appearances since 2013 and her first encounter with Karl Lagerfeld was in 2014 when he photographed her for the American magazine V. She was notably present at the CHANEL Fall-Winter 2016/17 Ready-to-Wear show presented this morning at the Grand Palais."
All of that sounds pretty weak for naming someone an ambassadress. For comparison's sake, here's what Louis Vuitton stated after choosing Jaden Smith for their 2016 campaign:
"[Jaden] represents a generation that has assimilated the codes of true freedom, one that is free of manifestos and questions about gender...Wearing a skirt comes as naturally to him as it would to a woman who, long ago, granted herself permission to wear a man's trench or a tuxedo."
Now if that isn't worth being a Chanel ambassador, I don't know what is! He would even build Karl a pyramid to scale for Choupette, I bet.
