Sad news to report this morning. John Heard passed away at the age of 72. He was found in a Palo Alto hotel room; he was in the area recovering from "minor back surgery" at Stanford on Wednesday. The cause of death has not been determined. He may be best known for his role in Home Alone, but his career spanned TV and movies with appearances in Big, Beaches, Pelican Brief, White Chicks and The Sopranos.
