Ian Ziering and Tara Reid did a Reddit Ask Me Anything on Tuesday to promote Sharknado 3. Here are some of the highlights:
On the favorite way they've killed a shark:
Reid - "Mine would be on top of the Empire State Building when I whip out my saw hand."
Ziering - "My favorite slaying was the no-look behind the back shark filet on top of a firetruck on broadway in the center of Manhattan."
On whether or not someone will be lost if they haven't seen the first two Sharknados:
Reid - "I think you could watch all the sharknadoes and figure it out. It's nice to watch all of them but you realize real quick there's sharks flying in the sky in tornadoes, and we gotta find a way to save the world."
On whether or not Sharknado will have the enduring impact of Star Wars and Godfather:
Ziering - "You know the movie has obtained such recognition that it's hard to see it going away. James Bond has over 20 movies made, Mission Impossible shows no sign of slowing down. Sharnado has the same sort of popularity, but certainly not the budget. I think these will go on long after I'm done playing Fin. I actually gave birth to my replacement in this movie. We have a baby."
On funny stories from the set:
Reid - "Yeah, there are a whole bunch of em. The first funny moment was in this movie, compaerd to the other films, there's a lot of things that you have to say -- marketing wise -- it was difficult to say some of the things. One of them was about a certain phone, you had to make it natural, but it was so hard to do a commercial inside of the film you know, you're cringing saying it, but we managed to do it."
Ziering - "There was one instance where the director was trying to motivate us to lift this flag pole out of the ground. His direction was 'come on it's really heavy come on it's 100 pounds!'"
