Dear Anarchists,
Anarchy, by definition, has no rules. It was my intention to keep it that way on this site, but due to the actions of one relentless commenter, we now have our one and only rule: if you tell another commenter to die or to kill themselves in the comments on this site, you are dead to this site. I have done my best to remove the comments from this one particular commenter whenever they pop up (the only time that I have ever done so) so that you don't have to read them here every day, but I still have to see each and every single one. No one deserves to be subjected to the level of hatred that this person puts out into the universe on a daily basis, and that includes me.
Because of the limitations in Blogger's platform, the comments are now hosted by Disqus. It's not the choice I would have made under any other circumstance, but it was the best available option to keep all of the features that we know and love (subscribing to comments, replying directly to other users, mobile-friendly), while enabling the banning of anyone who would tell someone to die on a public website.
In order to prevent this behavior, the default moderation is set so that the comments of verified Disqus profiles get through immediately, without moderation. If you don't wish to create a Disqus profile, you are allowed to comment as a guest, but all guest comments are automatically moderated. There will be a slight delay before your comment will pop up on the site, but it will make it up eventually. Again, I am not going to suddenly be moderating everyone's posts. People have different opinions, and are allowed to disagree and even fight. What they are not allowed to do is to tell other people to die.
I apologize for springing this on all of you so suddenly, but it had to be done for the good of this awesome community of commenters. Let's all make it a great week!
XOXO,
Outtie
