Taylor Swift Vindicated in DJ Groping Case

Back in 2013, Denver radio DJ David Mueller put his hand under Taylor Swift's skirt and grabbed her bare ass when taking a photo with her. Mueller, who was already thin ice with his employer for previous incidents, was fired from his job. He then sued Taylor Swift in 2015 for $3 million in damages for "falsely accusing" him of groping him, and causing him to lose his radio job, which paid $150,000/year. In response, Taylor Swift countersued Mueller for assaulting her, for $1. Basically she's suing on principle.

Page Six reports that the judge in the case just threw out Mueller's case against Taylor Swift, "claiming the pop star could not be held liable for the DJ getting fired." Score one for Swift! Up next: the civil trial for Mueller's assualt.

Vulture has a roundup of Swift's testimony:

When told by Mueller's attorney that she could have taken a break at the meet and greet if she was really feeling distressed by what happened:
“And your client could have taken a normal photo with me.”

When Mueller's attorney showed the photo and said there is nothing visibly inappropriate going on:
“Gabe, this is a photo of him with his hand up my skirt — with his hand on my ass. You can ask me a million questions — I’m never going to say anything different. I never have said anything different.”

On the front of her skirt showing no signs of displacement in the photo:
“Because my ass is located in the back of my body.”

On how Swift felt about Mueller losing his job:
“I’m not going to allow you or your client make me feel in any way that this is my fault. Here we are years later, and I’m being blamed for the unfortunate events of his life that are the product of his decisions — not mine.”

On why no one else saw Mueller grabbing "a handful of her ass":
“The only person who would have a direct eye line is someone laying underneath my skirt and we didn’t have anyone positioned there.”

When asked if she thinks Mueller got what he deserved:
“I don’t feel anything about Mr. Mueller. I don’t know him.”
