TMZ reports that the public memorial for Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds will take place on March 25th at Forest Lawn cemetery where the pair are buried. The ceremony will take place in the 1,200 seat theater at the cemetery, and will be attended by Billie Lourd, Gary Fisher and James Blunt, who wrote a tribute song. If that seems random, it's not - Blunt and Fisher were very close, and she was godmother to his daughter. The Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles will also perform. If you are not in the Los Angeles area (or are and can't get in), the event will be livestreamed on Carrie and Debbie's website.
And for those that plan on attending, Todd Fisher released the following information: “We will be celebrating their lives with friends, family members, and the people who loved them… you. The service will begin at 1:00 PM and immediately afterwards, those who want to walk to their final resting place are welcome to do so. There are a limited number of seats available, and it will be on a first come, first seated basis. There will be room for overflow in the huge lobby as well as the outside with screens to watch and hear the service.”
