Well, color me surprised. TMZ reports that Amber Heard really did give away her entire $7 million divorce settlement from Johnny Depp. She released the following statement: "The donation will be divided equally between the ACLU, with a particular focus to stop violence against women, and the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, where I have worked as a volunteer for the past 10 years. Money played no role for me personally and never has, except to the extent that I could donate it to charity and, in doing so, hopefully help those less able to defend themselves. Hopefully this experience results in a positive change in the lives of people who need it the most."
Lest you think she's just talking out of her ass, Children's Hospital LA released the following statement thanking Heard: "her generosity will support the lifesaving treatments and cures that CHLA provides for critically ill children each year."
Well, good on her. Although the cynic in me is saying this is why she traded up from a millionaire to a billionaire. How much money is Elon Musk gifting her that she can afford to just give away $7 million like it's nothing? If she gets less messy with the media coverage, I could learn to respect that hustle!
