Page Six reports that retired New York Ranger Sean Avery convinced wife Hilary Rhoda to fire her mother Marianne, who had been acting as her manager. Marianne tried to get Hilary to insist on a prenup, but Sean convinced Hilary to dump Marianne as her manager, and Marianne was disinvited to the couple's October nuptials. A source close to Marianne states, "Marianne was trying to protect her daughter’s substantial assets. Sean got Marianne fired, and now he’s in charge. He controls all the people working for Hilary." They go on to allege that Sean convinced Hilary to move her money from conservative real estate investments to a private management group run by a guy who played junior hockey with Sean. When Page Six reached out for a comment, Hilary's rep responded as follows: "Someone of Hilary’s stature does not comment on personal or legal matters in the tabloids.” Oh, snap!
