Back to the Future Is 30 Years Old

As Back to the Future celebrates its 30th birthday (the original release was on July 3rd, 1985), a new tell-all book about the filming called We Don't Need Roads is being released. The Hollywood Reporter has a look at some of the secrets from the set. The most interesting ones are as follows:

After four weeks of filming, Eric Stoltz was fired, and replaced by Michael J Fox. When Stoltz was replaced, so was the role of Marty McFly's girlfriend. Too-tall Melora Hardin lost the role to shorter actress Claudia Wells. And the film was almost titled Spaceman From Pluto.
