This singer is in a tough position. Her label won’t pay for her to do a new album… but they won’t release her from her super strict contract, either!
"She is getting zero support from her label because her last album didn’t make a profit. The label and the distributor aren’t going to pay for another one. They’d have to put up at least another $800K ($150K for recording costs, $250K for a video, $400K for marketing), plus $600K for distribution.
She can’t go to a competitor either. Her contract with the label is iron clad. She is stuck doing features and small gigs until the distributor gets paid back and the label gets paid back. She is pulling PR stunts and starting feuds to keep her name relevant and get more features."
