A few years ago, this leading film actor felt compelled to have a famous beard to trot out in public. There were formal contracts and appearance schedules and scheduled paparazzi to ensure that he looked like he was in a serious relationship with a woman. It was very stressful for him.
He hasn’t done the beard contract thing in a couple of years. Now he just makes sure that he is seen on a “date” every once in a blue moon with a work colleague.
"The women don’t even have to be single. Just young and attractive enough to stir up the chatter about a possible romance. This casual approach is much less stressful for him."
