Johnny Depp Cuts Out the Middle Man

Remember last week when Amber Heard announced that she was giving the $7 million she gets from her divorce from Johnny Depp to charity, and a few of you thought that those charities might never see those checks? TMZ reports that Johnny Depp has called Amber Heard's bluff, and sent off the first installment of the divorce settlement directly to the ACLU and Children's Hospital; they both confirmed that they received checks from Johnny on Wednesday. His rep released the following statement:

"Following Amber Heard's announcement that her divorce settlement was to be divided equally and gifted to Children's Hospital of Los Angeles and the American Civil Liberties Union, two exceptionally deserving and important charities, Johnny Depp has sent the first of multiple installments of those monies to each charity in the name of Amber Heard, which when completed will honor the full amount of Ms. Heard's pledge. Ms. Heard's generosity in giving to these wonderful causes is deeply respected."
