Gabourey Sidibe Reveals Spooky Happenings on American Horror Story: Coven Set

Gabourey Sidibe was recently a part of a panel at Paley Fest to discuss American Horror Story. While the cast didn't reveal much about the upcoming Hotel season, Sidibe retold this story of her experience while filming Coven, as excerpted from The Hollywood Reporter.

While filming Coven, Sidibe had to learn the actual Latin chant to summon Papa Legba, the gatekeeper between the physical and spiritual realm. When filming started, the light fixture above her began to shake, and she couldn't move her back. They moved the scene to across the hall, and when Sibide began chanting again, the light fixture crashed to the ground. Then Sidibe felt a finger moving up her chin: "We were shooting close-up and the finger kept moving up. All of a sudden it was in my lip...it became like five times bigger."

Sidibe then returned to her makeup trailer: "I was in the hair and makeup trailer with one makeup artist and we heard scratching, like something was trying to get in our trailer. I turned to the lady and was like, PRAY! PRAY RIGHT NOW!' I called my friend who's Catholic and she gave me St. Michael's prayer. It went away once she prayed.

However, she still had to film one more scene where she recited the Latin chant. And sure enough, the finger returned. This time, it moved down her forehead to her upper lip.
