This is called unplugging, but still finding a little plug to plug into while unplugging :). This guy. Just a tiny glimpse of what it looks like to go nonstop although I don’t often share the inside view. Sometimes I wonder if he even sleeps! For the last 12 months I’ve watched him grow a company from the ground up. He’s always worked hard, but this is on another level. Running a company isn’t easy and he’s doing it. On top of producing one of the most important films you’ll ever see on regenerative agriculture and trying to change the world. He starts at sunrise and finishes long after the house has gone to bed. And he doesn’t stop. Ever. I always thought no one could outwork me (I’ve been known to pull 7 days a week) but I stand corrected. If there were 25 hours in the day he would find the extra hour. When we met, he stayed up til 4am. 😜 Now, he gets up at 4am to be on calls with branding, logistics, distributors, attorneys, the design team, buyers, distilleries, and beyond. I’ve watched him mix every sample with his own palate creating a chemistry lab out of our kitchen, and run through every single variation/ layer / note and nuance out loud. I can now say I know a hell of a lot more about bourbon than I ever thought I would, and our three year old probably does too because it looks a lot like apple juice so we’ve had to explain the difference ... but seriously proud, seriously inspired, and wanted to share a little bit of what I see with all of you. They say finding your passion in life gives life a whole new purpose, and I do think this chapter for him will be the best yet. A boy from Louisiana who grew up on Bourbon Street now creating bourbon?! Come on... you couldn’t write this stuff! Well you could, because he did, and then he made it come to life. 💫
